Sigma Omega Nu

Sigma Omega Nu is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive sisterhood for all members, including potential new members and Little Sisters. All individuals shall be treated with dignity and respect, consistent with the values of our organization.

Hazing in any form is strictly prohibited. No member, chapter, or affiliate of Sigma Omega Nu shall engage in, encourage, or fail to report any act of hazing. Hazing includes any action or situation that may cause physical, mental, or emotional discomfort, distress, embarrassment, harassment, or humiliation.

Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to: forced or pressured consumption of alcohol or substances, physical punishment or mistreatment, excessive fatigue or sleep deprivation, degrading or humiliating tasks, interference with academic responsibilities, inappropriate or conspicuous public attire, and any activity that violates university policies or Local, State, or Federal law. Consent or willingness to participate does not excuse or justify hazing under any circumstances.

Sigma Omega Nu strictly complies with all applicable anti-hazing laws, including:

California Penal Code § 245.6
Colorado Revised Statutes § 18-9-124
Nevada Revised Statutes § 200.605

Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, including removal from the organization and referral to university officials or legal authorities.
